Omissions.

Sorry about that folks, it is not easy to get back in here to proof read and set right, and obviously knock Barb pic off.  Then my I pad wouldn't let me go further to to edit.
So here is Barb pic and please forgive the grammar errors that I couldn't correct.
Maybe next time I will try on my laptop.

Also I notice I couldn't open the video. Maybe it was too big with other photo's
So I will put it on again.

Hope this works now.

Australia trip.Wi

February3rd.2019

This is our 5th day back home. And glad to say the temps are better than the day we arrived back. The snow banks outside the house are deminishing the sun is out and it looks quite Cherri.
I have an appointment at the fracture clinic on Wednesday, so I think I will stay put inside until then. But what can one do when they are right handed and can't even chop veggie for the big pot of chicken soup Paul is going to make.

So thought I would add to the blog, there will be more pics when I get the pics downloaded from my camera.

Here is a picture of us taken at the Grampian mountains, yes they have them in Australia too, the others are in Scotland.

The last time we went here was with our niece Gill and we came to the railing and could see nothing as it was so foggy, so we asked if we could go again and what a wonderful vistas we saw. Mick, Gill Maddie their daughter we all went and had a picnic lunch, listened and watched the colourful birds sing, as we ate.

While in Australia my friend Barb who got me interested into thread painting over ten years ago, had a day when we played with our threads.
Here is a couple of pictures of us though Barb wasn't keen to have a closeup, so Paul took one of her as she worked.

Here is another item Barb and I experimented with, it is a leaf we stitched on solable stabilizer once washed away leaves you with a leaf or whatever you design and sewed on the machine.

Going post another photo of the work of Amanda Hartland at Amanda Hartland Textiles you can check her work out. It really appeals to me it is thread sketching and she paints the sketch work and it really makes it pop. I love ER work as she uses every say scenes that we all take for granted, this really reminisce as it is so British and also my brothers first car was a black Morris Minor.

I will try and get more of the Aussie pictures downloaded for my next blog.
Bye for now.

Sdyney

January 29th.

We arrived in Sdyney on Thurs and Friday I met with an accident fell over a raised grate in sidewalk and broke my right upper Arm. Spent all of Friday in ER. Our niece kindly flew down from Melbourne and helped us. And by Sunday had us with letter To fly and flew out Sunday night between her and Duncan it was a load of Paul. Though I am trussed up and in pain with meds. We did manage a trip on load all ferry to go under bridge and see opera house. It was best to do that as it was 43 C and our Airbnb didn't have air so cooler to seat on a boat in the bay with the ocean breeze.
Heading back to Canada tomorrow and then to ER will need a plate and screws.

This old gal isn't let this accident get her down.

Post more pics of travel at a later date.

Port Fairy

January 18th 2019

Port Fairy.

As we travelled along the The Great Ocean Road at the end is a small seaside town of Port Fairy.
Port Fairy is a fishing town and has a lovely walk around the island. We were here last time but did the long walk this time we did the shorter one. They have designated place for the Sherewater birds that numbers are dropping but they are encouraging them to breed so there are areas one is not allowed to walk.

We walked out along the path that takes us out to the lighthouse and as our path takes us through scrub we are on the watch out in case we encounter any snakes. If you know me I would have had a heart attack if I came up against them.  Australia is a place of many posinous reptiles and spiders.
We saw no snakes I was relieved.
But we did come across this little lady ( Wallaby ) in the bush, if you pull it up you can see the Joey in the pouch. He kept popping out to pull in vegetation to eat but because they were in shaded area it was hard to get a good picture. She was about 10 ft away from us and busy eating.

We continued our walk,at the end was the beach and Port Fairy Lighthouse.

Today we left Port Fairy and headed out to Hamilton, yes that is right Australia has one too. It seems funny as our Hamilton is just a few miles from where we live!
We travelled  to Hamilton to visit with our niece Gill and Mick her husband and family.
So later I will post a few sites we saw while with them.

Have a great day everyone. And for those that are facing the cold of winter, here in Austraila the temperature was 42C but we were travelling on a train to Sydney so glad it was air conditioned, but that is a bit later in our travels to write about.

Great Ocean Road.

January 17th 2019

Great Ocean Road.

If ever you travel to Australia this is one place to visit. The views are spectacular and the strength of the mighty ocean really speaks to me that the elements of this world are mighty and powerful.
The twelve Apostles are quite the site. Naming after Christs Apostles, but has you can see there are no longer twelve as the wind and surf have taken its toll on them. The roar and winds as we watched the ocean is awe inspiring. Even though most of Australia is in the midst of a terrific heat wave, even here it was blowing great guns!!

One thing that really sets me thinking, is our world is being spoiled by greed and though we live here, we are the stewards of this world while we are here, we should look after it well for the next gerneration. And also teach our kids and grand kids to respect it too.

I would like to share a verse with closing. Luke 8  v. 25

I am sorry these blogs will be close together getting caught up on our travels.

The Great Ocean Road.

January 13th 2019

The Great Ocean Road.

After we left our friends Barb and Steve at Moolabark,Melbourne, we headed out to drive along the Great Ocean Road. Certainly a lot better weather than last time. Beautiful blue skies and fairly warm about 26c -30c.

We stopped at various viewing points along the way and hoping to be able to use some photo's for my thread painting.

We went to Lorne and Anglesea. We stayed overnight at Anglesea at a lovely hotel.

Then next morning continued along the Ocean Road.

We stopped at the Loch Ard Gorge and it is a site of where two people survived a shipwreck.

The water is so many shades of blue and the wind was fairly strong and the waves were fascinating to watch  crashing on the beaches. We watched the wind surfers cresting the huge waves ,
will have to show you those when I get home to download to my laptop. Though I love my I Pad it can be quite limited at times and also have to watch it doesn't change the wording, because then it can totally change meaning of what you have written.

Signing off today and will be back with some more shots?

Australia Trip Blog.

January 5th 2019.

Hi Welcome to my blog on our Australia Trip, grab a coffee/tea, put your feet up and come along with us on our trip.
We were welcomed to Australia to a temp of 43 C  and we sure felt it once we left the airport. Our friends Barb and Steve were their to meet us. And we have been staying with them 5/6 days. Of course us girls had a lot of catching up so you can imagine our tongues never stopped talking. This is our second visit to Barb and Steve. Barb is the one that introduced me to thread painting, and I would say I met Barb online almost like a pen pal except we use the Internet.

Sunday we took a walk around the area where they live, while they were visiting with her Dad. Here are some beautiful roses and flowers from people's gardens

Roses seem to grow really well here and lots of gardens have an abundance of them. Also another flower in white and blue/purple seems to grow well in gardens and on the side of the road. Steve says it grows as quickly as a weed.

This is the mountains that Barbs house looks out to she did tell me what they are called will have to check with her again.

To close with as in the other blog, I shared with you a picture of thread painting by Amada Hartland, she is a gal I follow and enjoy her work, here is the lastest she shared.

Today we had a long drive along the Great Ocean Road so will share with you next time.
